If you’re a BTS Army and want to know some facts about BTS so here we are. BTS is the acronym of “Bangtan Sonyeondan” which means ‘Bulletproof Boys Scouts’ a.k.a ‘Bangtan’ Boys. In July 2017 BTS decided to rebrand their name so it also stands for ‘Beyond The Scene’.
BTS is a seven members South Korean Band. The band formed in 2010 through audition by BigHits Entertainment’s Bang Si-Hyuk in 2010 and finalized in 2012. These 7 members were selected:-
RM (Kim Namjoon) – Band leader & rapper.
Jin (Kim Seokjin) – vocal, main visual.
Suga (Min Yoongi) – lead rapper.
Jhope (Jung Hoseok) – lead rapper, main dancer.
Jimin (Park Jimin) – lead vocalist, main dancer.
V (Kim Taehyung) – vocalist.
Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) – main vocalist, lead dancer, sub rapper, centre of group, Golden Maknae.
In addition to production and composition, the members of BTS also write their own lyrics which about mental health, self acceptance, love yourself and speaking yourself. BTS have a huge devoted fan base which called A.R.M.Y (Adorable Representative M.C for Youth).
On 12 June 2013, they showcased live performance “No More Dream” from their album “2 Cool 4 Skool” at their press meeting and officially debuted on 13 June 2013.
They won several ‘New artist of the year’ awards, including at the 2013 ‘Melon Music Awards’, ‘Golden Disc Awards’ & the 2014 ‘Seoul Music Awards’. The band continued to rise to wide spread prominence with their albums. “Dark & Wild” (2014), “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt.2” (2015), “The Most Beautiful Moment in Live:Young Forever” (2016) with the latter two entering the U.S billboard 200. “The Most Beautiful Moment in Live: Young Forever” went on win the ‘Album of the Year’ award at the 2016 Melon Music awards. The group continued to break records and becoming the Ist artist not from the big three entertainment companies (CSM, YG, JYP) BTS came from small company and made history.
Preorders for “Wings” reached over 700,000 copies all over the world. The Most special “Spring Day” topped 8 major South Korean Online Music Charts and entered U.S Billboard’s Bubbling under Hot 100 singles charts at No-15 with zero premonitory.
According to the “Forbes” the music video for the 2017 hit “DNA” had more then 5-7 million comments which make it the most commented music video on YouTube.
They become the top artist and also started to gain attention from foreign artist like Chainsmokers, Halsey, Nicky Minaj, Steve Aoki, Becky J, Sia and many more. They has done many collaboration with major foreign artists.
In January of 2018 BTS received their first double platinum certification from ‘The Recording Industry Association of Japan’(RIAJ) for their ‘Mic Drop/ DNA/ Crystal Snow’ and become the only single album by a foreign artist in 2017 who sell over 500,000 copies and get certification on Oricon chart of the year.
BTS latest album “MOTS: 7” was the biggest album debut in 2020 so far. Three of the album’s songs “ON”, “My Time”, & “Filter” are the Billboard charts ever. The Three songs also make BTS the most charted Korean group on the Billboard chart ever.
BTS latest “Dynamite” smashed the record on YouTube and achieved 101.2 millions views in its first 24 hours. The song also set a new record on “Spotify” on Aug 21, “Dynamite” debuted at no.1 on Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart.
BTS has established themselves as the global superstars with breaking uncountable records while imparting positive influence through activities such as their ‘Love Myself” campaign and the UN ‘Speak Yourself’ speech. BTS is in partnership with Korean & Japanese committee for UNICEF.
BTS was the only K-pop group to get their own Twitter emoji. They were also the first Korean account to reach 10 million followers on Twitter.
BTS has grown to be a true inspiration for rookie groups and next generation in short period. They won many hearts all around the world and inspire the young kids to see the dreams and do efforts to fulfill them. They have been talking the world by storm for a while now and there are no signs of them to slowing down. So what’s next? Maybe a Grammy that seems little hard but not for BTS.
